Narrowcasting on a Raspberry Pi.

The Raspberry Pi is a mini computer the size of a credit card. With the Stremo software on it, it becomes a reliable, power-efficient player that can run 24/7. Great for technical teams that want to keep their hardware in their own hands, or for larger rollouts where the cost per screen counts.

The benefits

Compact, affordable, and reliable

A Raspberry Pi costs little, uses hardly any power, and runs for months without any attention. That's why it's a favorite narrowcasting player among technical teams.

Low cost per screen

Low cost per screen

A complete Pi with a case and power supply is inexpensive to buy. Across ten or a hundred screens, that adds up fast.

Reliable for continuous use

Built for 24/7

No moving parts, barely any heat, and a system that runs Stremo only. That keeps a Pi stable, even after months.

Fully under your own control

You decide the hardware, the network, and the placement. Ideal for IT departments and integrators with their own requirements.

Big rollout? Here's how to keep it manageable

With dozens of Pis you don't want to keep an eye on each device separately. Put the Stremo software on an SD card once, copy it for all players, and pair them one by one with their code. In your dashboard you can see per screen whether it's online, and you group them by location so one publish updates everything.

  • Prepare one SD card, then copy it
  • See per screen whether it's online
  • Screen groups per location or department

FAQ

Questions about Stremo on a Raspberry Pi

1. Which Raspberry Pi do I need?
Plus

A recent model with an HDMI output, a case, a good power supply, and an SD card. Not sure which model fits your screens? Email [email protected] and we'll advise you.

2. Do I have to install anything myself?
Plus

You put the Stremo software on the SD card once; the guide walks you through it step by step. Prefer not to? Then the Stremo Player is the ready-to-go option.

3. Does the screen keep working if the internet drops?
Plus

Yes. Your content is stored locally on the Pi and keeps running without a connection. As soon as the internet is back, the screen automatically pulls in the latest changes.

4. Is Raspberry Pi included in every plan?
Plus

Yes. Your subscription doesn't depend on which platform your screens run on; you pay per screen, not per device type. View the pricing for the details.
